On May 29th, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam will host a seminar on “the Entrepreneurial University”. The idea of the Entrepreneurial University is commonly associated with the commercialization of knowledge developed by academic scientists via patenting, licensing, university spin-off creation and university-industry partnerships, but other applications are also possible. A variety of activities is needed for creating an entrepreneurial university, including the provision of commercially-oriented research funding, entrepreneurship and business education and training as well as innovation and business development services. On May 29th we welcome Dr. Ulla Hytti from the University of Turku (Finland) who will – amongst others – talk about Finnish research and strategies re the Entrepreneurial University, and we welcome a variety of Amsterdam-based speakers on various related topics and activities.
